Overview

BCD-256 is a monoclonal antibody targeting BDCA2 (C-Type lectin domain family 4 member C). It acts as a BDCA2 modulator and is being developed for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), particularly in subjects with skin lesions due to mild to moderate SLE. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials. Initial development and trials are by Biocad CJSC. Its mechanism involves modulation of BDCA2, which is primarily expressed on plasmacytoid dendritic cells and plays a role in regulating their activity and the type I interferon response in autoimmune diseases[1][2][3][4].
