Overview

BCDA-02 is an autologous cell therapy developed by BioCardia for the treatment of chronic myocardial ischemia with refractory angina. The therapy involves the extraction of a patient's own bone marrow cells, which are then processed at the point of care using the proprietary CardiAMP Cell Therapy System to concentrate beneficial cell populations. These cells are subsequently delivered back into the patient's heart muscle via a minimally invasive, catheter-based intramyocardial injection. The goal is to stimulate natural repair mechanisms, improve blood flow, and reduce anginal symptoms in patients who have exhausted standard treatment options. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase III clinical trial.
