Overview

CarciVac is an intravesical immunotherapy consisting of a live-attenuated strain of *Mycobacterium bovis* (Bacillus Calmette-Guérin). Developed by SINERGIUM Biotech, it is indicated for the treatment of non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC), including carcinoma in situ (CIS) and superficial papillary tumors (Ta/T1). When administered directly into the bladder, it triggers a robust local immune response, characterized by the recruitment of inflammatory cells and the release of cytokines, which ultimately leads to the targeted destruction of urothelial tumor cells. It is currently approved for use in these indications.
