Overview

BCL-AD-022 is a preclinical-stage monoclonal antibody developed by Bioclonal for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. It is designed to selectively target pathological, modified amyloid-beta (Aβ) species, specifically recognizing a conformational epitope unique to toxic Aβ1-42 dimers. These dimers are considered early, highly neurotoxic intermediates in the amyloid cascade. By targeting the dimer conformation rather than monomeric Aβ, BCL-AD-022 aims to neutralize the most damaging forms of the protein while minimizing interference with physiological Aβ monomers.
