BCM-0316

BCM-0316 is a novel antibiotic candidate being developed by Biocidium Biopharmaceuticals, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company based in North Vancouver, Canada. Currently in the preclinical stage, the drug is designed to address the critical global health threat posed by antimicrobial resistance. BCM-0316 has demonstrated efficacy against a broad spectrum of high-priority, drug-resistant bacterial pathogens, including Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE), Vancomycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA), drug-resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae (DRNG), multi-drug resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (MDPA), and drug-resistant Shigella (DRS). While its specific molecular mechanism of action and biological target have not been publicly disclosed, it is part of a portfolio of novel chemical entities targeting both Gram-positive and Gram-negative resistant infections.
