BCM235

BCM235 is an injectable small molecule prodrug of paracetamol (acetaminophen) being developed by Shanghai Yunsheng Yanxin Biotechnology for the management of acute pain and fever. Designed to overcome the solubility and stability challenges associated with intravenous paracetamol formulations, BCM235 is rapidly converted into its active metabolite, paracetamol, following administration. The drug exerts its analgesic and antipyretic effects primarily by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system through the inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes. BCM235 has been evaluated in Phase I and Phase II clinical trials in China, with a specific focus on postoperative pain management and fever reduction.
