Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BCM332 is a small molecule, highly selective inhibitor of the voltage-gated sodium channel Nav1.6 (SCN8A), developed by Shanghai Bozhi Yanshen Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of epilepsy, specifically focal seizures. By selectively blocking Nav1.6, which is a major mediator of neuronal firing in the central nervous system, BCM332 aims to provide potent anti-seizure activity with an improved safety profile compared to non-selective sodium channel blockers. The drug is currently undergoing Phase II clinical evaluation in China.
