BCM899 is a novel, small-molecule Angiotensin Receptor-Neprilysin Inhibitor (ARNI) being developed by Shanghai Yunsheng Yanxin Biotechnology for the treatment of cardiovascular conditions, including hypertension and coronary heart disease. As a single-molecule dual-target agent, BCM899 simultaneously inhibits neprilysin (neutral endopeptidase) and blocks the angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor. Inhibition of neprilysin prevents the degradation of natriuretic peptides, which promote vasodilation and natriuresis, while AT1 receptor antagonism counteracts the vasoconstrictive and inflammatory effects of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. This dual action is intended to provide superior blood pressure control and target organ protection compared to traditional monotherapies.
