BCMA CAR + CD38 CCR T cells is an investigational autologous engineered T-cell therapy being developed by Amsterdam UMC for the treatment of multiple myeloma. The therapy combines a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) with a chimeric costimulatory receptor (CCR) targeting CD38. This dual-targeting approach is designed to enhance T-cell activation, proliferation, and persistence while overcoming antigen escape and low antigen density limitations associated with single-target BCMA CAR T-cell therapies. The product is manufactured by transducing patient-derived T cells with a GMP-grade retroviral vector using the Lonza Cocoon platform.
