BCMA CAR-NK92 cells are a form of cell therapy in which the NK-92 natural killer cell line is genetically engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA). BCMA is highly expressed on malignant plasma cells in multiple myeloma. These modified NK-92 cells exhibit enhanced cytotoxicity and cytokine production (such as IFN-γ and granzyme B) when exposed to multiple myeloma cell lines or primary patient samples. The therapy aims to leverage the potent antitumor activity of CAR-modified NK-92 cells while maintaining their native activating receptor functions. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that BCMA CAR-NK92 cells can effectively kill multiple myeloma both in vitro and in vivo, with increased efficacy observed when combined with agents like bortezomib. This approach offers a promising immunotherapeutic strategy for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma[1][3][5].
