Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BCMA CAR-T (Hebei Senlang) is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy that targets B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), also known as TNFRSF17. Developed by Hebei Senlang Biotechnology, this cell therapy is being evaluated in exploratory clinical trials for the treatment of refractory and relapsing ulcerative colitis (UC). BCMA is highly expressed on mature B cells and plasma cells, which are thought to play a role in the autoimmune pathogenesis of UC by secreting pro-inflammatory cytokines and potentially pathogenic autoantibodies. By specifically depleting these BCMA-expressing cells, the therapy aims to reset the immune environment and achieve long-term clinical remission in patients who have failed standard treatments.
