BCMA-CART

BCMA-CART is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy developed by Bioray Laboratories for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. The therapy involves genetically engineering a patient's own T cells to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) that specifically targets B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), a protein highly expressed on the surface of malignant plasma cells. Once re-infused into the patient, these engineered CAR-T cells recognize and eliminate BCMA-expressing tumor cells. A Phase 1 clinical trial (NCT03492268) was initiated to evaluate its safety and efficacy but was subsequently withdrawn before patient recruitment was completed.
