Overview

**BCMA-CD19 cCAR T-cell therapy** is a bispecific, autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to target both B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and cluster of differentiation 19 (CD19). It is genetically engineered to enable patient T cells to express CARs that recognize and kill both BCMA- and CD19-expressing cells. The dual targeting addresses tumor heterogeneity and aims to reduce relapse due to loss or downregulation of a single antigen, particularly in diseases like relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). BCMA is broadly expressed on plasma cells and malignant myeloma cells, while CD19 is present on B cells and a subpopulation of myeloma progenitor (stem-like) cells, providing a broader immunotherapeutic effect. The therapy has demonstrated high response rates and durable remissions in clinical trials, with a tolerable safety profile characterized mainly by mild cytokine release syndrome and low neurotoxicity[1][5][4].
