BCMA-CD19 compound CAR is a dual-targeting chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy designed to simultaneously target B cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and CD19. This approach enables the depletion of both B cells and plasma cells, aiming for a complete reset of the humoral immune system. The therapy has shown efficacy in inducing long-term medication-free remission in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), including those with lupus nephritis. It works by eliminating disease-causing autoantibodies produced by B cells and long-lived plasma cells.
