BCMA-GPRC5D CAR-T cells is an investigational dual-targeting chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by Donghua Zhang at Tongji Hospital. This cell therapy simultaneously targets two antigens highly expressed on malignant plasma cells: B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and G protein-coupled receptor class C group 5 member D (GPRC5D). By utilizing a dual-targeting approach, the therapy is designed to enhance anti-tumor activity and mitigate the risk of disease relapse caused by antigen escape, a common limitation of single-target CAR-T therapies. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma who have undergone at least three prior lines of treatment.
