Overview
**BCMA-mRNA** is an investigational cancer vaccine designed to deliver messenger RNA (mRNA) encoding B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) using lipid nanoparticles. The mechanism of action is the induction of an immune response against BCMA-expressing multiple myeloma cells. Once administered, the mRNA is translated by host cells, resulting in BCMA antigen expression and activation of dendritic cells and T cells, particularly cytotoxic CD8+ T cells. This response leads to targeted killing of BCMA-expressing malignant plasma cells. Development efforts center around immunotherapy for multiple myeloma. The primary indication is multiple myeloma, with preclinical evaluation for safety and immunogenicity[8].
