BCMA SIR-T is an investigational Synthetic Immune Receptor T-cell (SIR-T) therapy being developed by Angeles Therapeutics for the treatment of multiple myeloma. The SIR-T platform utilizes a proprietary synthetic receptor designed to mimic the natural T-cell receptor (TCR) complex, which aims to provide superior sensitivity to low-density antigens and improved metabolic fitness compared to traditional Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies. By targeting the B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), also known as TNFRSF17, which is highly expressed on the surface of malignant plasma cells, BCMA SIR-T directs engineered T-cells to selectively identify and eliminate cancer cells. The program is currently in the IND-enabling phase of development.
