**BCMA-targeted CAR-T cells** are a class of autologous, genetically engineered T-cell therapies designed to recognize and destroy cells expressing B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), a protein highly expressed on malignant plasma cells in multiple myeloma. The therapy involves harvesting a patient's own T cells, modifying them ex vivo to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting BCMA, expanding the modified cells, and infusing them back into the patient. Once infused, these CAR-T cells bind to BCMA-expressing myeloma cells and mediate their destruction through T-cell activation and cytotoxicity. Two BCMA-targeted CAR-T cell products currently approved by regulators are idecabtagene vicleucel (Abecma) and ciltacabtagene autoleucel (Carvykti). Both are indicated for relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma and represent a transformative therapy for heavily pre-treated patients, though they are associated with risks such as cytokine release syndrome and neurotoxicity[3][4][5][6][10].
