Overview

BCN057 is an investigational small-molecule Wnt–β‑catenin pathway modulator being developed by BCN Biosciences as a dual-acting agent that both protects normal intestinal stem cells and exerts antineoplastic effects, particularly in gastrointestinal and pancreatic cancers.[1][3] Preclinical studies show that post‑irradiation administration of BCN057 promotes Lgr5-positive intestinal stem cell proliferation and epithelial regeneration, mitigating radiation-induced gastrointestinal syndrome without protecting tumor tissue, suggesting use as a radiomitigator to improve the therapeutic ratio of abdominal or pelvic radiotherapy.[1][2] Patent disclosures describe BCN057 (also referred to as YEL002) as a heterocyclic small molecule that inhibits aberrant Wnt/β‑catenin signaling in cancer while enhancing repair in normal tissues, with potential applications across solid tumors, fibrosis, inflammatory diseases, alopecia, metabolic disorders, and mitigation of chemotherapy or radiation toxicities.[3]
