Overview

BCPT02 is a novel, small-molecule topoisomerase I inhibitor developed by Biocytogen as a cytotoxic payload for antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). It serves as the active component in Biocytogen's proprietary ADC platform, often conjugated to antibodies via a highly hydrophilic, protease-cleavable linker (the complete linker-payload system is sometimes referred to as BLD1102). BCPT02 functions by inhibiting DNA topoisomerase I, an enzyme essential for DNA replication and cell division, thereby inducing DNA damage and apoptosis in tumor cells. The compound is utilized in several bispecific ADC candidates, including BCG041, BCG019, and BCG022, which are being investigated for the treatment of various solid tumors such as non-small cell lung cancer, gastric cancer, and breast cancer.
