Overview

BCR-ABL multipeptide vaccine is an investigational **peptide-based therapeutic cancer vaccine** evaluated in chronic myeloid leukemia. In the registered Tehran University of Medical Sciences study NCT00455221, the vaccine consisted of ten BCR-ABL-derived peptides administered subcutaneously to patients receiving imatinib. The intended mechanism is induction of BCR-ABL-specific cellular immunity, including cytotoxic T-cell responses against leukemic cells expressing the BCR-ABL fusion oncoprotein. The trial evaluated the vaccine together with separately administered IL-12 and GM-CSF plasmid cytokine-gene adjuvants; those plasmids are not considered part of the BCR-ABL multipeptide vaccine itself.
