Overview

BCT-200 is a pegylated recombinant human arginase 1 (pegArg1) developed as an arginine-depleting agent for the treatment of cancers and autoimmune disorders. It is a modified version of BCT-100, designed to maximize drug stability and safety. The mechanism involves enzymatic depletion of extracellular arginine, which targets tumors and immune cells that are auxotrophic for arginine, thereby inhibiting their growth or function. The drug is being developed primarily by Bio-Cancer Treatment International Limited for use in neoplasms (including solid tumors), immune system diseases, and skin/musculoskeletal diseases[1][3][8].
