BCT301 is an investigational cell therapy consisting of anti-CD19 chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells derived from chemically induced pluripotent stem cells (CiPSCs). Developed by Peking University Third Hospital, it is designed to treat refractory autoimmune diseases by targeting and depleting CD19-positive B cells, which play a central role in the pathogenesis of conditions such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), systemic sclerosis, and Sjögren's syndrome. The use of CiPSCs as a starting material potentially allows for a more scalable and standardized "off-the-shelf" production process compared to traditional autologous CAR-T therapies. BCT301 is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy in patients with various refractory autoimmune disorders.
