Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BCYRN1 siRNA is a research-use small interfering RNA (an RNA-interference oligonucleotide) designed to target and knock down the expression of brain cytoplasmic RNA 1 (BCYRN1), a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that is upregulated in several cancers, including prostate cancer, cervical cancer, gastric carcinoma, glioma, and renal cell carcinoma. In preclinical in vitro and in vivo studies, transfection of BCYRN1 siRNA has been shown to suppress cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, while promoting apoptosis. It is primarily used as a laboratory tool for gene knockdown and has not been developed as a clinical therapeutic.
