Overview

BD-1063 is a selective sigma-1 receptor antagonist with high affinity (Ki = 9 ± 1 nM for sigma-1 receptor, at least 49-fold selectivity over sigma-2 receptor)[1][7][9]. It is a small molecule research compound used primarily in experimental pharmacology and neuroscience to probe the role of sigma-1 receptors in neuropharmacology, addiction, pain, and neuroprotection[8][7][9]. BD-1063 has been shown in animal models to modulate the effects of addictive substances such as cocaine, ethanol, and MDMA, reduce binge-like and compulsive eating, and attenuate pain and hyperalgesia[3][4][5][6]. It is not an approved pharmaceutical and is used as a chemical probe in preclinical studies[8].
