BD113 is a preclinical mRNA-based therapeutic candidate being developed by Shanghai Bendao Gene Technology (BDgene) for the treatment of glaucoma. The drug utilizes the company's proprietary BDmRNA/BD-VLP delivery platform, which employs virus-like particles (VLPs) to deliver mRNA transcripts into target ocular cells. This technology is designed to enable transient expression of therapeutic proteins to modulate intraocular pressure or provide neuroprotection to retinal ganglion cells, offering a potential alternative to traditional small-molecule eye drops or invasive surgery.
