Overview

BDT001 is a first-in-class small molecule negative allosteric modulator of the fms-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3) receptor, developed by Biodol Therapeutics for the treatment of chronic neuropathic pain. Unlike traditional tyrosine kinase inhibitors that typically target the intracellular catalytic domain, BDT001 acts as an extracellular inhibitor by binding to the extracellular domain of FLT3. This binding prevents the interaction between the receptor and its ligand (FLT3 ligand), thereby blocking the signaling pathways that contribute to nerve injury-induced sensory hypersensitivity. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that BDT001 can significantly reduce neuropathic pain symptoms, such as hyperalgesia and allodynia, with a single dose providing relief for up to 48 hours.
