BDX301 is a proteosome-based intranasal vaccine adjuvant derived from Neisseria meningitidis. It enhances mucosal and systemic immune responses when combined with vaccine antigens, including recombinant SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein (SmT1v3) and influenza virus neuraminidase (N1) proteins. BDX301 stimulates strong IgG and IgA antibody production, especially in the respiratory mucosa, and promotes memory B-cell and effector T-cell responses. The adjuvant acts, at least in part, as a TLR4 and TLR2 agonist, boosting adaptive and mucosal immunity. BDX301 is under development for use in intranasal vaccines targeting infectious diseases such as COVID-19 and influenza, often demonstrating superior mucosal immune responses compared to traditional adjuvants like aluminum phosphate[1][3][4].
