BEACOPP

BEACOPP is a chemotherapy combination regimen used primarily for treating Hodgkin lymphoma. It consists of seven different medications: * B – Bleomycin: An antibiotic with anti-cancer properties * E – Etoposide: A chemotherapy drug that inhibits DNA synthesis * A – Doxorubicin (also called Adriamycin): An anthracycline that interferes with DNA * C – Cyclophosphamide: An alkylating agent that damages DNA * O – Vincristine (also called Oncovin): A plant alkaloid that disrupts cell division * P – Procarbazine: An alkylating agent * P – Prednisolone/Prednisone: A steroid that reduces inflammation Each drug in this combination works through different mechanisms to destroy cancer cells. BEACOPP has shown significant efficacy in advanced-stage Hodgkin lymphoma, with higher cure rates than some alternative regimens, though it comes with more significant side effects.
