Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Uvalysat is a traditional herbal medicinal product developed by Johannes Bürger YS Lab, primarily used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the lower urinary tract, such as cystitis and urinary tract infections. The active component is an extract from bearberry leaves (*Arctostaphylos uva-ursi*), which contains the glycoside arbutin. Upon oral administration, arbutin is metabolized into hydroquinone derivatives. These derivatives are excreted via the kidneys and exert an antiseptic and antibacterial effect within the urinary tract, particularly in alkaline urine. The product is available in various formulations, including an oral liquid (Uvalysat Flüssigkeit) and a dietary supplement version containing cranberry (Uvalysat Cranberry NEM).
