Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Beautifil II LS (Low Shrink) is a universal nano-hybrid bioactive restorative material (composite resin) developed by Shofu Dental. It utilizes proprietary S-PRG (Surface Pre-reacted Glass Ionomer) technology, which enables the material to release and recharge six beneficial ions, including fluoride, strontium, and borate. These ions contribute to the remineralization of tooth structure, provide anti-plaque effects, and help prevent secondary caries. The LS designation refers to its low polymerization shrinkage (1.85% by volume) and low shrinkage stress, making it suitable for all classes of dental restorations (I-V). In clinical research at Al-Azhar University, it has been evaluated for its performance in carious lesions following various pretreatment protocols, such as self-assembling peptide P11-4 or laser treatment.
