Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BEBT-720 is an investigational drug developed by Guangzhou BeBetter Medicine Technology. It utilizes dual siRNA technology to target two genes, Cell death-inducing DFFA-like effector b (CIDEB) and Hydroxysteroid 17-beta dehydrogenase 13 (HSD17B13), introducing a multi-mechanism approach for the treatment of liver diseases. Cell death-inducing DFFA-like effector b (CIDEB) is implicated in lipid metabolism and liver disease progression, while Hydroxysteroid 17-beta dehydrogenase 13 (HSD17B13) has been associated with protection against chronic liver injury. By simultaneously silencing both targets, BEBT-720 aims to provide a novel therapeutic strategy for conditions such as nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and other forms of chronic liver disease[1].
