Overview

BECC438 is a synthetic lipid A mimetic developed by TollereBio as a vaccine adjuvant. It functions as a Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) agonist, mimicking the immunostimulatory activity of the lipid A component of bacterial lipopolysaccharide to activate innate immune pathways. By stimulating TLR4, BECC438 enhances the magnitude and quality of the adaptive immune response to co-administered antigens. It is currently in preclinical development for use in general vaccination strategies and as a component of vaccines against *Yersinia pestis* (plague).
