BECC438b

BECC438b is a synthetic lipid A mimetic and Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) agonist developed by TollereBio. It serves as a vaccine adjuvant designed to enhance the immune response to the DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis) vaccine. By mimicking the structure of lipid A, the bioactive component of bacterial lipopolysaccharide, BECC438b activates the TLR4 pathway to stimulate innate immunity, which in turn promotes a more robust and durable adaptive immune response. The candidate is currently in preclinical development for the prevention of pertussis (whooping cough) and is being investigated for both intranasal and intramuscular routes of administration.
