Overview
Beclometasone is a corticosteroid medication used primarily for the treatment of asthma, allergic rhinitis, and certain skin conditions. It works by reducing inflammation in the airways and other affected tissues. As a glucocorticoid, it binds to glucocorticoid receptors, up-regulating anti-inflammatory proteins and repressing pro-inflammatory proteins, which helps decrease swelling and irritation in the airways to allow for easier breathing.
