Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Beclometasone dipropionate + calcipotriene is a fixed-dose combination topical medication used primarily for the treatment of plaque psoriasis. Beclometasone dipropionate is a synthetic corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and vasoconstrictive properties. Calcipotriene (also known as calcipotriol) is a synthetic vitamin D3 analog that regulates skin cell production and differentiation. The combination leverages the complementary mechanisms of both agents to improve efficacy and convenience over monotherapy, with once-daily application recommended for up to four weeks. The product should not be used on the face, groin, or axillae and should be discontinued when control is achieved[5].
