**Description:** Beclomethasone dipropionate is a synthetic corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory and vasoconstrictive properties. It acts as a prodrug, rapidly converted in the body to its active metabolite, beclomethasone-17-monopropionate (17-BMP), which binds with high affinity to the human glucocorticoid receptor. This binding inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators from various cells, reducing airway hyper-reactivity and improving lung function in asthma.
