beclomethasone dipropionate + albuterol + prednisone

This combination regimen, studied by the State University of New York at Buffalo, consists of beclomethasone dipropionate (an inhaled corticosteroid), albuterol (a short-acting beta-agonist), and prednisone (an oral corticosteroid). It was evaluated in clinical trials (notably NCT01141374) to determine if the addition of inhaled beclomethasone to the standard emergency department discharge regimen of oral prednisone and inhaled albuterol could reduce 30-day return visits for patients with acute exacerbations of asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The components work synergistically to reduce airway inflammation and provide rapid bronchodilation.
