Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bediol is a standardized medicinal cannabis chemovar developed and produced by Bedrocan International, an EU GMP-certified producer of pharmaceutical-grade medicinal cannabis. Derived from the *Cannabis sativa* L. 'Elida' cultivar, it is characterized by a balanced cannabinoid profile containing approximately 6.3% THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and 8.8% CBD (cannabidiol). Bediol is classified as a plant-derived active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and botanical raw material, available in forms such as whole dried flower (flos) and cut flos. It is utilized in clinical research and medicinal programs for the treatment of various conditions, including chronic pain (particularly fibromyalgia), migraine, inflammation, anxiety, and nausea. Its therapeutic effects are primarily mediated through the interaction of its constituent cannabinoids with the endocannabinoid system, specifically targeting CB1 and CB2 receptors.
