Beer A

Beer A is a specific brand or product name for beer, an alcoholic beverage produced by the fermentation of cereal grains—primarily barley and/or wheat—using yeast, hops, and water. The primary active ingredient in beer is ethanol (ethyl alcohol), which acts as a central nervous system depressant. Ethanol exerts its effects mainly by enhancing the activity of γ-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) at GABA~A~ receptors in the brain, leading to sedation and anxiolysis. It also modulates other neurotransmitter systems including glutamate, glycine, acetylcholine, serotonin, dopamine, and endogenous opioids[7]. Beer may contain various phenolic compounds from its ingredients (e.g., hops and malted barley), trace nutrients such as B vitamins and minerals[8], but its pharmacological action is dominated by ethanol.
