Overview
Begelomab is a murine monoclonal antibody that targets dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4, also known as CD26), a protein expressed on T cells. By binding to CD26, begelomab inhibits T cell activation and proliferation, thereby suppressing immune responses implicated in diseases such as graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) and dermatomyositis. The drug acts as an immunosuppressant by blocking DPP4/CD26-mediated pathways involved in the expansion of autoreactive T cells. Begelomab has received orphan drug designation for GvHD and dermatomyositis and is being developed primarily by ADIENNE Pharma & Biotech[1][2][3][5][6].
