Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Beimu Zhizhu Decoction is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula utilized by Professor Gao Feng at Wangjing Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, for the treatment of chronic cough. The decoction is part of a diagnostic and treatment plan that combines disease and syndrome differentiation. It typically incorporates *Fritillaria* (Beimu), which is traditionally used in TCM to clear heat, transform phlegm, and stop coughing, alongside the 'Zhizhu' combination (*Fructus Aurantii Immaturus* and *Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae*) to regulate qi and strengthen the spleen. It is currently being evaluated in retrospective clinical studies to compare its efficacy against standard conventional therapies for chronic cough.
