Overview
Beiqi Yifei is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation, commonly produced as capsules (Beiqi Yifei Jiaonang), developed and manufactured by Tonghua Yongcang Pharmaceutical. It is indicated for the treatment of lung-qi deficiency and is frequently used as an adjuvant therapy for patients with tuberculosis to enhance immune function and alleviate symptoms such as chronic cough and shortness of breath. The formulation is composed of several herbal and animal-derived ingredients, including *Astragalus membranaceus* (Beiqi), *Codonopsis pilosula*, *Ophiopogon japonicus*, *Schisandra chinensis*, *Fritillaria thunbergii*, and *Gekko gecko*. These components work synergistically to tonify the lung and spleen, nourish yin, and provide antitussive and expectorant effects. In the context of tuberculosis, it is used to support the patient's constitution during long-term antitubercular drug regimens.
