Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Belcytere is a branded formulation of docetaxel, a taxane-class cytotoxic chemotherapy agent distributed by Belcynor Pharmaceuticals. As a small molecule microtubule stabilizer, it binds to tubulin, promoting the assembly of stable microtubules and inhibiting their disassembly. This disruption of normal microtubular dynamics leads to the inhibition of mitosis and subsequent cell death. It is primarily used in the treatment of various malignancies, including breast, non-small cell lung, prostate, gastric, and head and neck cancers. Belcytere is available as a premix solution for injection in single-dose vials.
