BEM-102

BEM-102 is an investigational non-injectable formulation of a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist being developed by Shanghai Benemae Pharmaceutical for the treatment of obesity and weight loss. As a GLP-1 receptor agonist, it mimics the action of the endogenous incretin hormone GLP-1, which regulates glucose metabolism and appetite by stimulating insulin secretion, inhibiting glucagon release, and slowing gastric emptying. BEM-102 is part of Benemae's strategic expansion of its GLP-1 platform, which includes the approved injectable product beinaglutide (recombinant human GLP-1). The development of BEM-102 aims to provide a more patient-friendly, non-invasive administration route to improve compliance and accessibility for long-term weight management. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
