Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bemab is a bevacizumab biosimilar developed and manufactured by Eskayef Pharmaceuticals (Eskayef Bangladesh). It is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that targets vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), a key mediator of angiogenesis. By binding to VEGF-A, Bemab prevents its interaction with VEGF receptors (VEGFR-1 and VEGFR-2) on the surface of endothelial cells. This action inhibits the proliferation of endothelial cells and the formation of new blood vessels, thereby depriving tumors of the blood supply necessary for growth and metastasis. Bemab is approved in Bangladesh for the treatment of several oncology indications, including metastatic colorectal cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, glioblastoma, renal cell carcinoma, cervical cancer, and ovarian cancer. It is produced using advanced isolator technology in a state-of-the-art oncology facility.
