Overview

Bemarituzumab + CAPOX is a combination therapy consisting of bemarituzumab (a monoclonal antibody targeting FGFR2b), capecitabine (an oral prodrug of 5-fluorouracil), and oxaliplatin (a platinum-based alkylating agent). This regimen is under investigation for use in patients with previously untreated, advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer that overexpresses FGFR2b. Bemarituzumab inhibits FGFR2b signaling, thereby blocking tumor cell growth and survival in cancers overexpressing this receptor. Capecitabine is a chemotherapy agent that is metabolized to 5-fluorouracil, which interferes with DNA synthesis, while oxaliplatin forms DNA adducts that inhibit DNA replication and transcription[2][3].
