Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bemcentinib + docetaxel is a combination therapy consisting of bemcentinib (a selective oral AXL kinase inhibitor) and docetaxel (a taxane chemotherapy agent). This combination has been investigated for the treatment of previously treated advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Bemcentinib prevents cancer cell migration and invasion, suppresses angiogenesis and metastases, while docetaxel is a cytotoxic agent that disrupts cell division. In preclinical models, the addition of bemcentinib increased docetaxel sensitivity 1,000-fold, with synergistic anti-tumor activity attributed to inhibition of PI3K signaling and dephosphorylation of cell cycle-dependent kinase CDC2.
