Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Bemiltenase alfa (STSP-0601) is a recombinant coagulation factor X activator developed for the treatment of bleeding episodes in patients with hemophilia A or B, including those with inhibitors. It is derived from the venom of Daboia russelii siamensis and acts by specifically activating factor X (FX), thereby promoting hemostasis even in the presence of inhibitors to standard clotting factors. Preclinical and clinical studies have demonstrated its ability to activate FX in a dose-dependent manner and support its safety profile, with no severe adverse events or thromboembolic complications reported. The drug is administered intravenously and has been evaluated in multiple phase 1 and phase 2 trials for both inhibitor-positive and inhibitor-negative hemophilia patients[3][5][4]. The drug is developed by Staidson (Beijing) Biopharmaceuticals.
