Buprenorphine + naloxone + BEM + RZR is an investigational drug combination being studied for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) infection in patients receiving opioid maintenance therapy. The regimen consists of bemnifosbuvir (BEM, AT-527), an oral nucleotide analog polymerase inhibitor targeting the HCV NS5B polymerase, and ruzasvir (RZR, AT-038), an oral NS5A inhibitor. These antivirals are co-administered with buprenorphine and naloxone, which are standard-of-care medications for opioid use disorder. Developed by Atea Pharmaceuticals, this combination is specifically evaluated in Phase 1 drug-drug interaction (DDI) trials to assess the pharmacokinetic compatibility of the BEM/RZR pan-genotypic HCV regimen with stable opiate maintenance therapy, facilitating the inclusion of this high-prevalence patient population in late-stage clinical trials.
